WISNAB: The "Knowledge Transfer Network: Urban Health and Movement
The goal of the WisNaB project is to establish a "Knowledge Transfer Network: Urban Health and Movement" [original in german: "Wissenstransfer-Netzwerks: Stadtgesundheit und Bewegung"] aimed at strengthening the connection between health promotion, physical activity promotion, urban development, and sustainability.
With the help of the network, the following objectives are to be achieved:
- Existing projects and initiatives are to be captured,
- Existing information gaps are to be identified,
- The networking of relevant stakeholders is to be promoted
in order to sustainably promote health and physical activity in the city.
The starting point consists of associations between personal living and working environments, physical activity behavior, and the health or well-being of the city's population:
- Through the WisNaB project, the consultancy, planning, and development of health-promoting and physically active cities, as well as the networking of decision-makers from science, business, associations, and politics, are to be promoted.
- In doing so, the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations (SDGs) are also taken into account.
